This new Birmingham, AL based business captured my heart. My dear friend, Olivia Dunn, dreamed up a business idea with several other college students. Little did they know, “Work of Worth” would flourish and become a real business that holds the power to change lives.
Work of Worth exists to connect entrepreneurs in developing countries to the US market. They only work with fair and ethical businesses, who are providing sustainable income for men and women through dignified work. Work of Worth’s purpose is to see that those who face human trafficking and poverty have more CHOICES through commerce. The overarching goal is to see people in desperate circumstances have what we all want: a job that brings dignity. Each person they support is a work of worth, the products they make are works of worth, and with each purchase, you are taking part in a work of great worth.
Olivia best sums it up: “Someone once told me that the way to avoid living a monotonous life is to live for others. That is why I want to give my life’s work for the sake of people who don’t know they are worth helping, and to see hope overcome the odds.”
